Absolute Seafloor Pressure

High-precision total pressure measured at the seafloor. Used for tsunami detection, long-period seafloor deformation monitoring, and as a reference for relative pressure products.

Overview

Pressure incorporates tidal pressure gauges sampling at rates varying from 0.0667 Hz to 1.0 Hz. Each instrument also carries a housing temperature channel.

The product spans two generations of instruments: existing gauges on the Regional Cabled Array at Slope Base, Southern Hydrate Ridge, and Axial Base, and new COSZO Paroscientific Series 8000 gauges at Outer Shelf, Oregon Offshore, and Mid Slope.

Raw pressure data are released within 24 hours of acquisition.
